The Local Innovation Network is an organization that works so that every person can have quality of life and opportunities, regardless of where they are born or live. They support local leaders because they believe that good local management can transform people's lives.
Their mission takes them to work in the Global South, where there are more than 40,000 local governments managing public policies that impact more than 6.5 billion people. However, great inequality and lack of opportunity remain challenges they still face.
That is why RIL connects, accelerates and inspires people who seek to solve the region's public challenges.
"In Latin America there are more than 15,000 Local Governments and specifically a group of 6500 LGs where more than 90% of the population lives. In order for all these people to have quality of life and opportunities to develop, local governments need to have a very effective capacity for impact in the design and implementation of their policies. RIL seeks Efficient Governments for Cities of Opportunity.
With the support of VélezReyes+ we want to generate, strengthen and make visible approximately 1,000 local governments in LATAM as cities of opportunity. We believe that when this happens we will have generated the conditions for the cultural change we propose to be irreversible. We will have changed the standards of local governments in the region."
